October 31, 2020

October was a good month. And Halloween was low key - just like I like it. Ry dressed up as Rex from Napoleon Dynamite and Sadie wore her Tigger onesie. Cam dressed up as a Culver’s worker and went to work at Culver’s. :)

Darren got a good Halloween hike in up to Silver Glance.  He sent the Baylie pic at an amazing lunch spot.

Did the Timpooneke down Grove Creek hike that Lorien loves to do for her birthday. It was a little crazy this year with a distraught man and two men in a razor who are heroes and saved the guy and the day.

Good sacrament meeting. I especially enjoyed Elder Matthew Huff’s cello piece with Sister Butler accompanying him on the piano to “A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief”.

Good Sunday evening with the Randalls. Baylie and Penny are funny together and we got a couple rounds of Jokers and Marbles in.

Comedy and hiking for a road trip down south? Yes yes and yes! Darren and I hiked and laughed and hiked some more. If was fabulous. Our road trip also included some country music and hwy 89 with small towns which I love.

Brian Regan was hilarious! Darren got me tickets last Christmas and it was finally covid rescheduled at Tuacahn. He was so funny! Not funny - all the people that agreed to wear masks in the venue only to not wear their mask in the venue. Arg.

The two hikes we did we destination hikes with some serious drop offs at the end. Snow canyon overlook and Cable Mountain were great. Zion was looking so nice on Saturday. Thanks to the random people at Cable Mountain that we had been chatting with that pointed out we were on quite the precipice and snapped a picture. Now I’m terrified that I may have fallen to my death.

Elder Tad Callister - Negativism and pessimism are Satan’s turf; positivism and optimism are God’s.

Happy Rylie’s birthday. I'm having a hard time recognizing that she is now 18.  We had a birthday dinner and played a little pickleball to celebrate. She celebrated with friends yesterday. She loves sunsets and she makes delicious smoothies.
