February 29, 2020

Leap Day hike included two leap things - a rabbit I saw and some frogs I heard.  Scout Cave in St. George was a new trail that also had red rock and some sand and a cool cave and loud geese.  Started hiking at 8:45 and saw one person until 10:00 and then in the last 15 minutes saw a few groups.

Also - you know that saying - you win some you lose some? Well that did not apply this weekend. It was more like - you lose all three games and can’t get a goal in but the weather was great so there’s that.

I like watching Ry play soccer. And eating at Costa Vida with her. But especially chatting with her after her game in the warm Mesquite sun.

Cam sent this great pic of Baylie for her dog birthday yesterday.

President Faust - "Develop an appreciation for the great gifts of God as found in nature, in the beauty of the seasons; the eloquent testimony of God in the sunrise and the sunsets, the leaves, the flowers, the birds and the animals."

  • Elder Holland - October 2019 GC. “The Message, the Meaning, and the Multitude”
  • Sheri Dew - April 1999 GC. “Our Only Chance”
  • Sister Samuelson - BYU Speech - January 2008. “Treasure the Day”
Also - I like this picture of Mason and the dog.

Saturday day trip to Richfield to go to Wingers for lunch. Good choice to be with my parents for a minute. Finished up the day playing Just Dance with Mason and watching Men In Black. (Classic.)

February 21, 2020

Pine hollow can go either way in the winter as far as good hiking is concerned. Sometimes the trail is great, sometimes there is hardly a trail, and sometimes the trail is a mess of ice bumps. Well today we got the great trail and it was fabulous. The lookout after the second meadow to your left was pretty. Fresh air and trees do wonders. The snow seemed especially white and the sunshine felt so good.

Friday night date night with D was spot on tonight. We went to Provo for some comedy and happened upon a good dive Chinese place for some good Chinese. Mmm - lemon chicken. (Yum Yum Chinese - ha ha.) The comedy show had two of my favorite comedians - Steve Soelberg and Alex Velluto. They just make me laugh and laugh. And laughing is my favorite. $10 well spent. Steve’s “why do you smell like flat cats?” And Alex’s Oregon trail bit was awesome. “Wash your hands digital family.”

Mr. Sippy and his wife - Mrs. Sippy.  :)

Rylie always says, "Don't fret mom."  So I smiled when I saw fret in the scriptures.

This also makes me smile.  I'm a big Crocodile Hunter fan.

February 17, 2020

Love me a Monday off. Art museum, Two Jacks Pizza, a book store, spikeball - speed - Kan Jam at the church, Jarbles, Just Dance, plus some relaxing. DATKMRCS. Also - Mason had a cool double heel click move.

I title this picture - "you can take kids to an art museum but you can't make them look at art".

I title this picture - "these two like books".

A few things from this weekend that made me smile:

Valentines sunset as I drove with D to Richfield was amazing. Darren knowing High School Musical songs. Flowers from Darren that smell so good. Eating at my favorite Chinese restaurant - located in Nephi. Laughing at my dad - Darren, “Do you like my new jacket?” My dad, “Nope.”  Exploring some Capitol Reef (including a less know little side canyon called Shinob.)  Ideal Dairy sandwich.  Friendly stake members. Sunday evening family games and Tillamock ice cream.

Good family weekend. Mason came home and Kenz and tanner hung out lots with us. There was racquetball and chili Fritos and In and Out or Zupas and Catan, Karma, plus Jarbles and movies downstairs and of course foosball.

I love how Rylie mixes dressy with casual.

First snow day for me as a parent. Sadie stayed in her PJs all day. That is just how a snow day should be spent.

Snapped this picture of Sadie the day before our snow day.
