"Be it known to all men, let it by proclaimed by the very trump of God, let angelic choirs sing of its wonders and glory, let all the hosts of men stand in awe as the voice from heaven declares that God has in these last days restored the fulness of his everlasting gospel." - Bruce R McConkie, October 1984 GC.

June 27, 2015

Good evening shooting a couple hoops with the girls and staying up late to watch a movie with Mason (Oblivion).  And the house was clean thanks to my hard work earlier.

June 26, 2015

Such a great day in Logan with Kenz.  The kids and I enjoyed lots of fun with her.  Fun like eating at Granny's Grilled Cheese and Morty's, stop at Chugs where K works for a drink and a brownie, temple for some and shopping for others, seeing a new movie (Inside Out), and laughing in her apartment.  Oh, and the Institute building always comes through for a bathroom.

Quote of the Week: "Why do we care so much about the approval of others?  Why do we 'aspire to the honors of men' (D&C 121:35) and forget that Heavenly Father's approval is all that matters in the end?  When we allow our decisions to be influenced by the approval of others, we put ourselves at the mercy of fickle mobs, ever-changing fashions, and the devil's whirlwinds.  If instead we seek our Heavenly Father's approval only, we build our foundation upon a rock that cannot be moved (see Helaman 5:12).  And I can think of nothing that will bring us more stability and optimism than building our foundation upon the rock of our Redeemer...I testify to you that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are our greatest cheerleaders and fan section.  We will feel more joy and hope in this world when we do our best to seek and obtain Their approval." - T Jeffrey Wilks - BYU Speech

Last minute mom/kid camping with the Kings and Bartholomews was a great idea.  Just sitting around at Granite Flat campground relaxing and talking to two good women is a great Wednesday activity.  We all enjoyed our Wednesday night.  The girls especially enjoyed Kelly bringing glue dots.  :)

I just really like hiking with D.  Lake Blanche was harder than I remembered.  It couldn't be I'm less in shape.  The view was worth the exhaustion.

June 19, 2015

Got to spend the afternoon with my mom.  Sadie and Ry got to join us.  WE had a good time shopping and eating lunch in a cool old bank.  D, Mason, Camrie and my dad went four wheeling.  M and C were good sports as it was a long, bumpy ride.  I'm glad my dad got to be with them today.

Good summer evening in the front yard.  Shooting some hoops and some soccer monkey in the middle.  Fun, I know.

Murphy/Covili/Draper mom and kid camp out #3 is in the books.  I sure like camping with my 2 friends - even in the rain.  Although I prefer not rain.  Us women rocked putting up a tarp over the table.  We were also smart enough to drive down the canyon to eat dinner (ate at The Pie) while the majority of the rain came.  I loved Lisa Falls and I actually loved sleeping in the back of the pilot with Cam and Sade.

If there is a brownie or cookie laying around, you cannot expect me to leave it there.  Just saying.

Also, Elder Pace's talk from general conference October 1987 is fabulous.  Some of my favorite parts-
"Don't mistake telestial pleasure for celestial happiness and joy."
"To those of you who are inching your way closer and closer to that great and spacious building, let me make it completely clear that the people in that building have absolutely nothing to offer except instant, short-term gratification inescapably connected to long-term sorrow and suffering."
"The commandments you observe were not given by a dispassionate God to prevent you from having fun, but by a loving Father in Heaven who wants you to be happy while you are living on this earth as well as in the hereafter."
"No popular vote can change an absolute, eternal truth.  Legalizing an act does not make it moral."

June 11, 2015

Such a good summer day.  It started off early with a hike to Silver Lake.  I love that hike and it's great in the early morning hours.  (Started hiking at 7:10.) Other awesome sauce things that made it such a good day:  Coloring with Sadie while it rained.  Puddle jumping after the good quick rain.  Seeing a rainbow.  Sitting on the front steps enjoying the summer air and chatting with D.  Having Mason get home safe from floating the Green River.

June 9, 2015

Good day.  It started out with a YW temple trip to Odgen.  The view of the girls sitting on the bench behind the font with a picture of John the Baptist baptizing Jesus was one to remember.  The day ended with the girls and me seeing Cinderella.  We loved it!  "Have courage and be kind."
