May 31, 2014

Today was apparently joke day.  Sadie told me a great one:
Q:  What do you get when you cross a turle with a porcupine?
A:  A slow poke.  :)

Cut little joke teller.  Then I saw:
Q:  Why do missionaries need to have large bladders?
A:  Because they only get 1 P-day a week.  :)

Graduation is complete for Kenz.  Gasp.  It was a great high school experience.  In thinking of all the many friends and acquaintances and all the many things she did, there seemed to be 3 people along for the majority of the ride.  Jac Heaps, Gibson Ainge, and Kaden Wilcox.  Fun, I know.

Quote from graduation, "In the midst of our lives, we must find the magic that makes our souls soar."

Watching Cam play soccer is awesome.  She loves playing with this team.  She smiles the entire game and is having so much fun she'll break out into some dance moves occasionally.  She had a great goal tonite.

Spending the day as a family made me realize how much I'm going to miss Kenz when she goes to college.  I'm super excited for her, but I'm going to miss her.  Sniff.

Somehow it was D, K, M, and me for dinner.  We had a great time chatting and laughing away with the oldest 2 kids.  Fun, I know.  We mentioned how Mason was given the silent warrior award at soccer BBQ and how coach Corbett was spot on when he said Mason takes on bigger kids, wins the ball, and makes a good pass up to the midfield almost every time.

I'm the crazy lady who sings kinda loud with her ear buds in while mowing the lawn.  Fun, I know.

May 18, 2014

Fabulous evening at Seminary graduation.  The Spirit was awesome and Kenz rocked her talk.  The closing song was very fitting - Hope of Israel:
Hope of Israel, Zion's army,
Children of the promised day,
See, The Chieftan signals onward,
And the battle's in array!
Hope of Israel, rise in might
With the sword of truth and right;
Sound the war-cry, "Watch and pray!"
Vanquish ev'ry foe today.
Soon the battle will be over;
Ev'ry foe of truth be down.
Onward, onward, youth of Zion;
Thy reward the victor's crown.

I didn't get a picture with my camera so I need to take a picture with my mind of Mason walking to his game in his purple jersey and slider shoes just looking like such a cool soccer kid.  That kid is so fun to watch play soccer.  2 big strengths he has are passing and heading.  Fun, I know.  Have I mentioned how much I enjoy watching him play?

Lame, lame, lame.  There were definitely tears shed over lame track circumstances.  LAME!

Awesome to get a random out of the blue phone call from Kirsti - my dearest high school friend.  She's one of those friends you may not talk to for a very long time and it doesn't matter.

Some days you have to let the house be dirty and just sit outside on the grass, soaking in the sun.

Sitting here under a tree with the sun shining down, looking at the mountains and listening to the birds as Mason warms up for his soccer game.  Bliss.  Sigh.

Cam is such a great example of forgiveness.  One of her friends that hasn't been a good friend this year called and asked her to play and she didn't miss a beat saying yes.

"Life is to be enjoyed AND endured."  - Darren Draper.  D gave the best talk relating hiking to living the gospel life.

2 games, 2 girls (C and S), 2 goals.  I also saw those 2 girls be 2 dinostars.  Sadie was nervous until she found me in the audience and then she was good.  Happy early Mother's Day to me.

The Lord doesn't always send tender mercies in the form of an apostle, but sometimes he does.  Kenz was so disappointed after region until Elder Christofferson stopped by at the end.

So proud of my 2 oldest girls tonite.  They ran/played hard and gave it all they had, even though they came up short.  They're awesome.

I guess the good thing about not seeing Kenz run is that she calls to tell me about it.

May 2, 2014

I often wake up with a song in my head.

Mason and I will talk songs.  Like "I wanna see you be brave."  "Honestly."  Fun, I know.

Today was one of those good days.  HIking was good.  Ry played so good.  It was a good win for her.  It was also good to see Jenn Cook before the game.
