March 31, 2020

Pulled out the classic “chip” game outside with a new ball and the trampoline. Good times.  Baylie definitely wanted to play.

March 29, 2020

Corona games March version. Jokers and Marbles, Golf card game, Catan, Monopoly.  Also jack box games and lots and lots of Minecraft.

The trampoline has seen so much use this month. Especially from Cam.

March 28, 2020

Quote of the day from Sadie as we were eating our Chubby’s takeout, “This grilled cheese fills me up nicely.” (As she pats her belly. We laughed and laughed at that.)

Listening to the kids laugh as they play Minecraft is awesome. Who knew Minecraft would be the teenager’s sanity keeper in the midst of March Corona?

March 26, 2020

Two days in a row of pickleball. Today was colder than yesterday and a little windy. It made the game exciting. :). Ry was a hoot (Mason kept saying, “good job Ry”) and it was fun playing Darren and me vs Mason and Ry. Cold weather meant courts open. Phew.

Day 11 of stay close to home Corona virus encouragement came from Elder Ballard, "Let's be happy and keep going forward and do the best we can, and these circumstances will change."

March 23, 2020

Listened to Elder Holland’s BYU Speech - Lessons from Liberty Jail. So good. And so relevant for now.

"Spiritual experience, revelatory experience, sacred experience can come to every one of us in all the many and varied stages and circumstances of our lives if we want it, if we hold on and pray on, and if we keep our faith strong through our difficulties."

"You can have sacred, revelatory, profoundly instructive experience with the Lord in the most miserable experiences of your life—in the worst settings, while enduring the most painful injustices, when facing the most insurmountable odds and opposition you have ever faced."

"Every experience can become a redemptive experience if we remain bonded to our Father in Heaven through that difficulty. These difficult lessons teach us that man’s extremity is God’s opportunity, and if we will be humble and faithful, if we will be believing and not curse God for our problems, He can turn the unfair and inhumane and debilitating prisons of our lives into temples—or at least into a circumstance that can bring comfort and revelation, divine companionship and peace."

March 22, 2020

I've felt connected to my Grandma Christensen lately.  She passed away when I was 6, but I remember feeling very loved by her.

(My dad thinks this picture was taken in 1973 or 74.)

March 21, 2020

Good to get out with D on a hike. We went to Pine Hollow  glad we had spikes. It was a mix of mud and snow. Baylie was in heaven. The second meadow was so pretty. I do like that meadow covered in snow for some reason. Lots of people out enjoying the fresh air and not the house. Most were walking up the road. At least nature isn’t closed yet.

Tonight after prayer and scriptures, MRCS are  just sitting and laying in the couch laughing and it just warmed my heart. The kids are being troopers about the pandemic and loss of activities. I’m glad Mason is here as he brings fun and diversity.

March 20, 2020

Woke up to a little snow. It made everything beautiful which is what I need right now - to see the beauty. Took Baylie for a walk and came home to read President Oaks’ recent conference talk with this quote this is also what I need right now. “Our only sure reliance is to trust in the Lord and His love for His children.”

Also - four kids playing Minecraft and laughing for hours is good stuff.

Also - we resorted to Monopoly tonight to take up some time.  Mason won.  Sadie came in 2nd even though she only had about 3 properties.

March 19, 2020

Found this quote from my journal and want to re-journal it. George Albert Smith - “ That peace May abide in our hearts and our homes, that we may radiate sunshine and cheer wherever we may go, that we may prove to the world that we do know that God loves, by the lives we lead.”

Also, Rylie's text from work had me laughing.

Earthquake crazy to add to the pandemic crazy. That happens. I really hope to eventually (hopefully sooner than later) look back on this time and laugh.

March 17, 2020

Playing pickleball with M and R and listening to Train with them was an awesome 90 minutes. Snow capped mountains behind the pickleball court - sigh.

Also - puts a smile on my face when Cam and Baylie jump on the tramp together.

March 15, 2020

For some reason this COVID-19 is giving me anxiety. I mean it makes sense that it is but I thought I would write that down. Some thing that have helped a little - President Nelson’s pep talk, creating an “Arch Madness” tournament, reading and listening to church restoration things, family Sunday walk, and re-listening to some talks (Elder Holland’s October 2019 was especially good). Our Come Follow Me discussion this morning was great as well.

Also, Mason's food tower put a smile on my face.

March 14, 2020

Mason came home since Snow College is going online in two weeks.  He humored me with a picture.

March 12, 2020

This will go down as a crazy few days with announcements of closures and limits due to corona virus. No march madness, no church meetings, people crazy hoarding. Ugh.

But I did snap this pic.  Is it Rylie's bed or Baylie's bed?  :)

March 10, 2020

Good Tuesday. Started out with a beautiful early morning sky with a huge moon still up. Middle had awesome compliments for Camrie from her math teacher. More middle - sitting outside enjoying some warm (Ry was on the tramp).

March 7, 2020

One of those good days. Pickleball and Nickel Cade for some fun.

March 6, 2020

Happy birthday to Sadie. What a great 13 year old.  She likes rock climbing, reading, making clay objects, painting, and her heated blanket.

Ry after wisdom teeth removal was hilarious. She “loves everyone so much!”

Rylie brought me some roxberry orange juice. Best orange juice ever!

March 3, 2020

Good day spent in Sanpete County. Wedding in the Manti temple, drive with Clayton and Sandee, lunch with lots of family, seeing Mason at his apartment, going to Ephraim Walmart with him, and hanging out with Darren all day.  I do like Sanpete County.

(Darren, Angee, Sandee, Clayton)
