July 30, 2016

I thought Deer Creek was not the best choice for kayaking as it was rocky and windy and there were so many people and then the girls said how much fun they had and they loved playing in the lake and kayaking with big waves so apparently it was good enough.

July 29, 2016

So sad the Draper vacation is over.  How I love being with my family.  Even in a hot condo an hour away from home.

July 28, 2016

Awesome couple of hours at a Park City park.  Volleyball on an awesome sand court, kickball with a flat ball after it popped in the bottom half of the first inning, and the most epic game of Draper soccer.  Team boys and Sadie vs. team girls.  I can't wait for round two!

July 27, 2016

Uinta vacation day today.  Kayaking on a beautiful mountain lake is, well, beautiful.  Hole in the wall Mexican place in Kamas was delicious.  Best chimichanga I think I've ever had.

July 26, 2016

Snowbird was way fun and it was a great first full day of the D Draper family vacation.  Apparently Sadie is a rock climber.  Watching Mason and Tanner have a rock climbing race made me smile.  As did watching Mason and Camrie on the coaster.  Tony Burgers came through for dinner with amazing shakes.

July 23, 2016

Cam has wanted to see fireworks this year and since we didn't get to on the 4th we told her we'd take her to a Bees game when they had fireworks.  Funny thing - the game went forever (12 innings) which made waiting for fireworks even longer.  Then they finally started and we were in seats that had an overhang and couldn't see all the fireworks.  At least Sadie was a little better without seeing them all because she let me know every 10 minutes that she doesn't like fireworks.  (I believe her as the tears and plugged ears and fast heartbeat came.)

It's hard not being partly in charge of Rylie's soccer team.  Let it go...

July 18, 2016

Sadie got hiker of the day as she rocked it and even enjoyed hiking above Cecret Lake while we were camping there.  And we are awesome at 24 hour camping.  Next time I call no flies.

July 16, 2016

Today's hike - one marmot, two moose, three lakes, lot of flowers, and a gazillion people.  I guess that's what we get for hiking on a Saturday.  (We went to Lake Catherine.)

July 15, 2016

Happy Mason's birthday!  What a good sport this year as it was his family he got to hang out with since his gang is out of town.  Sleep till noon, presents, lunch at The Old Spaghetti Factory, video games at home, (dinner of party pizza), and then to the movie for "Now You See Me 2" complete with birthday popcorn.

July 14, 2016

I can't seem to get the girls to bed before 10pm.  Ah summer.

July 13, 2016

I do like hiking to Cecret Lake with my kids.  This year we figured out the parking problem.  If there's no parking at the trailhead, pay $10 and use the campground as day use.  I don't mind paying $10 for an afternoon in the mountains with friends and kids.

July 12, 2016

I took the kids bowling and we had a fabulous time.  I may have won although Mason had a great comeback at the end but came up just short.  Sadie was just happy she didn't take last - which she said hasn't happened before.  :)

July 10, 2016

It doesn't get much better than a random Sunday bike ride with your son.  It was great chatting away as Mason is usually not chatty.  :)

July 9, 2016

20 hour camping included 3 hours of looking to secure a spot, hammock fighting, another deer in the campground, coloring girls, pudgy pie melted cheese, my marshmallow servants bringing them to me, bed fighting with Rylie wining with a guess of 43, Nemo watching, raccoons getting into coolers (they like hotdogs and Cool Ranch Doritos), sling shot shooting, and packing up.  Great one night camping.  We camped in Granite Flat at site #3.  It was a good spot.

July 7, 2016

Gandolfos, Eddie the Eagle, lakes, Taggart Grill, presents, and relaxing bday evening for a great celebration.  (Plus all the birth week fun done and to come.)

As for my bday hike - amazing 7 mile bdays hike in the Uintas to 16 - count them 16 - mountain lakes.  Fantastic bday present to me.  D and I hiked from the Crystal Lake trailhead up and around in a loop past Cliff, and Watson - on to Three Divides, and over by Twin and down past Wall.  The scenery was beyond beautiful.  Also saw a marmot and heards some cool birds talking to each other.  Oh, and a beaver.  I loved Birthday Lake (an unnamed lake that I named), Three Divide Lakes, Twin Lakes #2 and Hope Lake the best.

July 4, 2016

Good 4th celebration that included a mama and baby moose, a mama and tiny fur baby birds, four wheeling, basketball, cabin time, Clue, and grandparents.  Fun, I know.  And it didn't include the Richfield parade.  :)

July 2, 2016

Tim McGraw knows how to sing! He had a BBQ stain on his white tshirt.  Not really - but he did have a white tshirt.  When he sang "Shotgun Rider" - YEEHA!

Good music and a good hair day in my favorite shirt and with my favorite guy.  (Kenz and Tanner and Clayton and Sandee came with us.)

July 1, 2016

Hiked one of my favorite hikes today - Silver Glance.  (For only the 2nd time.)  It was so awesome sitting on a granite rock hearing the water cascade down, looking at pines and reflections in the lake, drinking my cool filtered stream water and listening to the bird while being the only two people there.  Amazing.
