Suncrest snowshoe in some serious powder today.  So deep and fun and beautiful and just happy.  Then after school Cam and I finished watching "Catching Fire".  She has been very much into The Hunger Games.  Then tonight we stopped at the library before grabbing some donuts.  And then scripture reading with the fam included D&C 128:23 -
Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King!  And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness.  Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy!  And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy!  And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever!  And again I say, how glorious is the voice we hear form heaven, proclaiming in our ears, glory, and salvation, and honor, and immortality, and eternal life; kingdoms, principalities, and power.

Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day!  While a lot of it was spent doing science fair projects, D and I got out in the snow.  We went to Dry Creek and escaped the crowds and packed down trail by going left side.  It was so beautiful and fluffy and magical with the snow falling in the quiet forest.  On the way back we sat down in the snow and relaxed as flakes came down.  It was awesome.

Patty took me snowshoeing to the Ogden Overlook today.  While the overlook was totally foggy making it not much of an overlook, the hike was breathtaking.  The fresh powder and not broken trail, the snow covered trees and completely frosted pines, being on top of a snow covered mountain - AWESOME.

That moment when Mason put on "White and Nerdy" by Weird Al when you're driving and everyone (except me) can sing all the words. :)

It was a drive to Logan for lunch kind of day.  That's a good day when it includes Kenz.  She took us to Even Stevens which is a yummy sandwich place.

January 15, 2017

Such a fabulous GNO weekend away to celebrate Kelly's bday.  We went to Kacee's cabin and chatted and ate and chatted and sledded and chatted and snowshoed and chatted and watched a movie and chatted and played games.  A lot of times chatting included the gospel and spiritual thoughts and apostle quotes.  (I loved sledding and showshoeing with Kelly.  She likes to get out and we're about the same speed and Saturday was an amazing day of warm sunshine and blue skies.)

"I wonder if you sisters fully understand the greatness of your gifts and talents and how all of you can achieve the 'highest place of honor' in the Church and in the world.  One of your unique, precious, and sublime gifts is your femininity, with its natural grace, goodness, and divinity.  Femininity is not just lipstick, stylish hairdos, and trendy clothes.  It is the divine adornment of humanity.  It finds expression in your qualities of your capability to love, your spirituality, delicacy, radiance, sensitivity, creativity, charm, graciousness, gentleness, dignity, and quiet strength.  It is manifest differently in each girl or woman, but you each possess it.  Femininity is part of your inner beauty." - President James E Faust.  April 2000 GC

I think if I could that I would hibernate all winter long and stay inside and just watch movies.  Although we went to a movie tonight and it was a great one.  "Hidden Figures".  Last night was a Redbox watching of "Sully" - also a good flick.  Although again, had to leave the house to get it.  Where is Vidangel when you need it?

Heard this little story about Sister Hinckley and I just love it.  "Twenty-five year old Marjorie Pay was anticipating her wedding day when the telephone rang.  "I think we had better go to lunch today," her fiance, Gordon B Hinckley, said.  He did not tell her on the phone that he had cold feet and was trying ot find a way out of the engagement.  While ordering lunch Gordon warned his bride-to-be, "I think you should know that I only have $150 to my name." Majorie's response was not what Gordon had expected:  "Oh, that will work out just fine; if you've got $150, we're set."  Reflecting on her thoughts that day, Marjorie said, "Well, $150 sounded like a small fortune to me.  I had hoped for a husband and now I was getting $150 too!"

Shoveled snow early this morning and it was beautiful out.  The sun wasn't quite up yet and the glow and the white and the quiet was awesome.
