I didn’t understand why whenever I asked my mom if
she would move up by us she would say, “No. I could never leave my
friends.” As she entered hospice and passed away, her friends showed
up! Such kindness and thoughtful words were shared from so many of her
friends. Then tonight her friends celebrated her at their monthly Rook
night. They had a birthday cake for her, shared memories, and signed a
card. I understand now why she didn’t want to leave them.
