April 19, 2020

Read such a good talk by Elder Maxwell from October 1976 GC -

“ Following celestial road signs while in telestial traffic jams is not easy.”
“ In the economy of heaven, God does not send thunder if a still, small voice is enough, or a prophet if a priest can do the job.“
“ We should, of course, learn from our mistakes, but without forever studying the instant replays as if these were the game of life itself.”
“ We can add to each other’s storehouse of self-esteem by giving deserved, specific commendation more often, remembering, too, that those who are breathless from going the second mile need deserved praise just as the fallen need to be lifted up.”

We took a photo to document this part of life in Corona.  :). I tried to sum things up below:

Well, here we are - a month into shutdowns due to the Coronavirus.  Kids are doing school at home, Rylie is still working at Roxberry, Darren is working from home, and I'm even working from home.  We're keeping mostly to ourselves with some neighbor chatting and such 6 feet apart.  For groceries I do Walmart online grocery pickup and then an early morning run to our little Kohler's grocery store.  When we eat out it's drive through or pickup and eat at home.

What an interesting month.  Kids are awesome at doing their schoolwork with Sadie having the most to do and probably being the most frustrated.  Mason has been swamped with school and doesn't really like it.  He says, "It's the bad part of college without any of the good part of college." Besides Sadie's frustration with school sometimes, I think she and Cam have embraced things a bit easier.  Rylie misses the social aspect more than the others.  As far as sacrifice goes, I think the biggest impact has been on Mason.

We see Kenz and Tanner a bit so that's nice.  They're both working from home as well.  Kenz initiated a scavenger hunt from each of our houses that was fun.  But mostly we're just entertained by our screens.  :). I've organized many a drawer and cupboard, and under sinks but that's about it.  It's been a struggle for me to get motivated.  But all is well here at 1863 N 900 E, Lehi, Utah.
