App of the trip was Sunday lawn.  We decided that Sunday lawn didn't mean mowing the lawn on Sunday, but mowing it on Saturday to have it ready for Sunday.  :)

Mormon Battalion and Temple Grounds - good choices for some Sunday visits. 

The Mormon Battalion was awesome and I learned a ton about this amazing adventure of the early Saints.  The San Diego temple was beautiful!  I loved the feeling at both of these places.  Such a stark contrast to the world. 

(We loved these purple flowers seen around San Diego.)

Where to first?  The beach!

We headed to Coronado beach, then we hit the USS Midway, and then a ballgame.  

Needless to say, the kids liked the beach the most today.

13+ hours after leaving our house we arrived at our motel in San Diego.  

We didn't get a view of the ocean but got a view of the "skyline" instead.  That happens.

It was a tiny room on the 11th floor that 7 of us squished into.  It went something like - blowup mattress, double bed, pillows on the floor for Cam, and then another double.  Fun, I know.

I love Zion National Park.  While I enjoy the red rock, the kids enjoy the gooey mud.  That happens.

One of my favorite things about vacation is that the kids are forced to be together.  Sure there's some fighting, but they also realize their siblings are lot of fun to be with.

My second favorite thing is that I get to to hang out with the kids.  Fun, I know.

Hiked to my first "Peak" today.  Gradeur Peak.  It was a fabulous hike with amazing scenery on the way up and a vast view of the valley from the top.  Fun, I know.

What wasn't fun was the dang snake that scared me.  I do not like snakes.  However I do like wildflowers.
