We escaped the heat and busy of the city for 24 hours and camped at Spruces.  Sitting in the hammock relaxing was the best part.

Great early morning hike to Steward Falls.  The birds were singing, the squirrels were out, some flowers were blooming, and the waterfall was roaring.  The falls were so amazing.  I've never seen so much water coming down.  The spray hit you from so far away.  And there was a rainbow at the base of the falls.  It was magical.

Draper Family Campout Escalante style ends.  Very good trip minus the bugs - they were ruthless.  Goodbye Escalante.  Thanks for the hike to waterfall, the water fun, the time with my fam and the Draper fams, the sunsets, and the good memories.  See you soon.

Great lake day at the campout.  Kayaks and paddle boards and swimming with cousins and escaping the heat.  Sadie is the cutest kayaker.  Cam and Bridger were total fish.  I don't really like water, but paddle boarding with Heather and kayaking with Gracee was way fun.  Also Mason and Rylie playing cards with grandparents and war with each other made me smile.  Also Devils Garden where Sadie pet a wild snake.  EW!

Draper Family Campout Escalante Style begins.  Today we hiked on of my favorite hikes - Lower Calf Creek Falls.  It was only my second time hiking it.  (The last time was in 1994 with the Drapers.) These falls are so beautiful.  They make the 3 mile hot hike in worth it.  I loved being there with my kids (sad D couldn't make it). I was so brave and dove in the freezing water with Brooke.  More campout fun was skipping rocks at the lake with M and R.  Oh - and the stars! They are amazing and bright and I just love seeing them twinkle.

Today was a really good day.

The smell of rian this morning was so strong and good.
Afternoon hike with the Kings was fantastic - even slip sliding away.
Scooter with Cam around the block was great.
Mason made me laugh as he kept saying, "You're a..." whatever I just said.  Ex.  Talking laundry and he says, "You're a small load."  :)
