Scripture of the day, John 16:33 - In me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Darren and I had such a great 26 hour getaway. We left Friday early evening and went to Richfield. We grabbed some food at Sandi’s drive inn and then ate and chatted with my parents all evening. Then Saturday morning we went to Capitol Reef. I have been wanting to hike The Frying Pan trail for awhile now and we finally did. It was much harder than I anticipated but also had more amazing views than I had anticipated. We started from near the campground (where D spotted me a marmot) and went through Cohab canyon to hook up with the frying pan trail. I loved this trail despite the elevation gain. It felt like you were on top of Capitol Reef seeing lots of canyons and prominent features. We hiked 7 miles and had a fabulous picnic spot with a sandwich and pickle from Ideal Dairy. Nothing like a good pickle sitting on top of Capitol Reef. :) (Our only disappointment was no pie at the Gifford house but we solved that by grabbing some in Bicknell at the Sunglow Cafe.) On our drive home we took a slight detour through Ephraim. We met Mason and Rachael at Roy’s Pizza and had fun chatting with them and eating pizza.

It’s been a year but I finally got back to the temple thanks to cute Cassidy King receiving her endowment in preparation for her Oklahoma City mission. I was a bit teary as we got to entered the temple. There were a few more teary moments. There were about 16 of us. Such a good feeling tonight and I didn’t know how much a have missed it until I was there. Sigh.

Virginia Pearce - “The uncertainties of earth life can help to remind
each of us that we are dependent on our (Heavenly Father). But that
reminder is not automatic. It involves our agency. We must take our
fears to Him, choose to trust Him, and choose to allow Him to direct us.
We must make these choices when what we feel most inclined to do is to
rely more and more on our own frantic and often distorted thinking.”

“Life is a chessboard, and if you’ve played it right, your best pieces will be standing in the right squares when you need them most.” The Downstairs Girl by Stacy Lee
Really liked this quote from one of the books I've read this winter. Librarian has brought out the reader in me lately.

Happy Sadie's birthday! 14. For her birthday she wanted to do nothing. So that’s pretty much what we did. Yesterday I did take her and Jessie and Becca to breakfast as Sadie has been wanting crepes for a long time and so she got some. We also ended up at thanksgiving point and hit two museums. The three girls had fun. Today was presents and Zupas and Kenz took Sadie and girls to a chocolate making thing. Also a lot of nothing that she wanted. :).

Tired legs that feel good. Yesterday was a 5 mile hike with lots of sledding and today was a 6.5 mile hike. Pine hollow and down the road then Tibble Fork to Silver Flat Reservoir. Pine hollow was pretty with blue sky and silver lake had some good views with clouds and then blue sky.

My cute little 3 year old red head friend that comes into the library came and found me to say hi. Made my day.
Also - I often wake up with songs in my head. Yesterday was “Lady” and today was Cool Change. It’s a Little River Band playlist apparently.
