Outstanding indoor game by Mason. So worth getting up at 5:30am to watch him play. 5 goals scored by his team - M scored 2 and assisted 2. He must have taken lessons from Camrie who on Friday scored 3 of her team's 5 goals and assisted the other 2.

Got such a totally awesome email from Brother Gentile (seminary teacher) thanking us for Mason being so kind in getting him a new soccer ball. It was such a cool email and mentioned how thankful he is for Mason's thoughtfulness and him just being a good kid. He also mentioned that he loved having Kenz in his class a few years ago. One of those emails to keep forever.

A good morning spent with Ry. Bright and early soccer game (6:50). We jammed to Taylor Swift on the drive, she scored an awesome goal from midfield, and we went out to breakfast with her team after. Love spending time with that girl.

Proud of my boy and his worthiness and willingness to be called as the teachers quorum president. He is going to be a fantastic leader. It was cool to see him, Matthew Huff, Clay Alger, and Jacob Gifford all sitting in the bishop's office looking sharp and ready to serve. I hope I can remember that mental picture. (Mason in his gray pants and purple tie.)

Cam had her first indoor soccer game. So, so fun to watch. Such a cute and good soccer player. Mia, Kara, Holly, and Cam make a great little soccer team.
To add to the soccer day, Mason got to go with Josh and Brooke to a REAL playoff game where they have front row tickets. Front row. I'd sit on the front row of about any sporting event.

Every year I don't want to carve pumpkins and every year one of the kids talks me into it and every year I'm glad we carved pumpkins. It was mostly Ry, Cam, Sadie and me. We put on some Halloween music and did some old school face pumpkin carving. Fun, I know. Cam was so cute as she said, "Thanks for doing this mom. I know it's not your favorite." Cute girl.

Saw Kenzie's Instagram from last night where she and friends carved a Mike Wazowski pumpkin. It was so cool. Her caption, "We're rehearsing a - a scene for the upcoming company play called uh, Put That Thing Back Where it Came From or so Help Me. It's a musical." :)

Happy birthday Ry. Such a fabulous girl! How I love her. Kenz and D went with her to the temple for the first time. She came home all smiles. She said, "next time I need to tell them a small. The medium was ginormous on me." :)

Simply fantastic day! Got to spend it with D and Sadie. So fun to have just Sadie as she was having a great time being a kid and I could see that since she was the only one I needed to watch. We saw Kenz run which is one of my favorite things. We also saw red rocks and fall colored trees and awesome views at Cedar Breaks. Then a stop at my parents to finish up the fantastic day. Oh, and the hawks - so cool! Plus the really old tree.

Good evening in the canyon. Watching the fire with the girls, playing racko in the trailer and watching R beat D at backgammon was great even though it was freezing. Cam's "dance when it's cold" dance by the fire was the best. We all busted out a few moves after that.

Good hike today up to Silver Lake. My favorite part was when we were almost down to the trailhead and we spot a moose. Then we walk through a grove of aspens and yellow leaves are raining down on us. Sigh.

"Happiness consists not of having, but of being; not of possessing, but of enjoying. It is a warm glow of the heart at peace with itself. A martyr at the stake may have happiness that a king on his throne might envy. Man is the creator of his own happiness. It is the aroma of life, lived in harmony with high ideals. For what a man has he may be dependent on others; what he is rests with him alone." David O McKay

Cam was the soccer star tonight! So fun. Her team was down by two in the second half when she decided to take matters into her own hands. She had a great shot off the post that just missed. That must have made her more determined because she then scored two goals in about 4 minutes to tie the game. Then she assisted to Mia who scored the go ahead goal. All this in about 10 minutes. Then about 5 minutes later the game ended. Fun, I know.

It's a 3 things day:
1. I love when Mason plays with Sadie. He is so good to her.
2. I still feel like I am missing someone when I account for the kids - and I am. I miss Kenz.
3. I love how Rylie says "hi" on the phone. She sounds so to talk to you - always.

President Monson - October 1988:
Happiness does not consist of a glut of luxury, the world's idea of a "good time". Nor must we search for it in faraway places with strange sounding names. Happiness is found at home.
We are responsible for the home we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. The thoughts we think, the deeds we do, the lives we live influence not only the success of our earthly journey; they mark the way to our eternal goals.
Let us determine, whatever our circumstance, to make of our houses happy homes. Let us open wide the windows of our hearts, that each family member may feel welcome and "at home". Let us open also the doors of our very souls, that the dear Christ may enter.

It's always nice to go for a bike/scooter ride around the block on a summer evening. There's the "little block" - down to the corner, across the street east, down the other side of 900 east and back. There's the "big block" (that we did tonite) which is around the actual block. Then there's the "big, big block which goes past the park, around by the Wilcox's, and past a few circles and home. Fun, I know.

Today was apparently joke day. Sadie told me a great one:
Q: What do you get when you cross a turle with a porcupine?
A: A slow poke. :)
Cut little joke teller. Then I saw:
Q: Why do missionaries need to have large bladders?
A: Because they only get 1 P-day a week. :)

Fabulous evening at Seminary graduation. The Spirit was awesome and Kenz rocked her talk. The closing song was very fitting - Hope of Israel:
Hope of Israel, Zion's army,
Children of the promised day,
See, The Chieftan signals onward,
And the battle's in array!
Hope of Israel, rise in might
With the sword of truth and right;
Sound the war-cry, "Watch and pray!"
Vanquish ev'ry foe today.
Soon the battle will be over;
Ev'ry foe of truth be down.
Onward, onward, youth of Zion;
Thy reward the victor's crown.
Hope of Israel, Zion's army,
Children of the promised day,
See, The Chieftan signals onward,
And the battle's in array!
Hope of Israel, rise in might

Awesome to get a random out of the blue phone call from Kirsti - my dearest high school friend. She's one of those friends you may not talk to for a very long time and it doesn't matter.

Some days you have to let the house be dirty and just sit outside on the grass, soaking in the sun.

Sitting here under a tree with the sun shining down, looking at the mountains and listening to the birds as Mason warms up for his soccer game. Bliss. Sigh.

Cam is such a great example of forgiveness. One of her friends that hasn't been a good friend this year called and asked her to play and she didn't miss a beat saying yes.

"Life is to be enjoyed AND endured." - Darren Draper. D gave the best talk relating hiking to living the gospel life.

2 games, 2 girls (C and S), 2 goals. I also saw those 2 girls be 2 dinostars. Sadie was nervous until she found me in the audience and then she was good. Happy early Mother's Day to me.

The Lord doesn't always send tender mercies in the form of an apostle, but sometimes he does. Kenz was so disappointed after region until Elder Christofferson stopped by at the end.

I often wake up with a song in my head.
Mason and I will talk songs. Like "I wanna see you be brave." "Honestly." Fun, I know.

The clouds looked so cool today. So white and puffy. They looked amazing from our hike at about 7500 feet as well.

President Uchtdorf's talk on gratitude was one of my favorites. I thought of something Kenz said the other day. She mentioned being blessed this injury for not hating the bike. Usually she can't stand riding the bike for exercise but this time around she doesn't mind. Kind of a cool blessing.
